NEW DELHI: In a virtual address during a Rozgar Mela programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that his government has generated 1.5 times more jobs in its ten years compared to the previous administration during the same period. Handing over recruitment letters to over one lakh youngsters via video conference, PM Modi criticized the former government for prolonged recruitment exercises that he claimed fostered bribery.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and its efforts to streamline the recruitment process, ensuring timely appointments. PM Modi stated that these measures have instilled confidence in the youth, providing equal opportunities based on merit and hard work.
Highlighting the success of government initiatives, such as the rooftop solar power scheme for one crore homes and substantial infrastructure investments, PM Modi asserted that these endeavors have resulted in a significant boost in employment opportunities. India’s burgeoning start-up ecosystem, with over 1.25 lakh start-ups, has contributed to job creation, even in smaller cities, according to PM Modi.
Addressing the railway sector, PM Modi announced plans to manufacture 40,000 modern coaches, similar to those in the Vande Bharat trains, for normal trains to enhance passenger comfort. He criticized previous governments for neglecting the railways and failing to meet the expectations of the common people.
In a bid to support innovation and research, PM Modi mentioned tax rebates for start-ups and a dedicated fund of Rs 1 lakh crore. He underlined the transformative impact of connectivity on new markets, tourism expansion, and job creation.
During the event, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the integrated complex “Karmayogi Bhavan,” promoting collaboration and synergy among various pillars of ‘Mission Karmayogi.’ Modi commended the role of ‘Rozgar Melas’ in bolstering the contribution of the country’s young population in nation-building. He highlighted the commencement of recruitment examinations in 13 Indian languages, providing equal opportunities to candidates in the Central Armed Police Forces.
The recruits from the Rozgar Mela are expected to join various ministries and departments, contributing to the government’s workforce across sectors, as outlined in an earlier issued statement.
