Sunny Deol to play Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram | – Times of India

Since many months now, there are several speculations and reports surrounding Nitesh Tiwari‘s ‘Ramayana‘. Though, there is just no official announcement on this front, Ranbir Kapoor is set to play Lord Ram with Sai Pallavi essaying the role of Sita. Meanwhile, a few days ago, reports suggested that ‘KGF’ star Yash will play Raavan and Vijay Sethupathi will be playing Vibhishan.
And now, a latest report suggests that Sunny Deol has been locked in to play Lord Hanuman in the movie. According to Pinkvilla, the ‘Gadar 2’ actor is all excited to play this role and considers it as a once in a lifetime opportunity. The makers think that Lord Hanuman stands for Strength and who can be better to play this part with utmost conviction than Sunny.
The actor is set to begin shooting for his part in ‘Ramayana: Part One’ from May 2024 onwards. As per the report, Part One will have Sunny in a guest appearance but his role will be more in the second and third part of this epic trilogy. The makers are also confident that after the mark which Dara Singh made as Hanuman, only Sunny can come close for a similar impact.
Ranbir collaborated with Bobby Deol in his last film ‘Animal’ and while they were at loggerheads in the movie, fans loved to see their bromance off screen. It was also a treat for fans to see them together in the film. Hence, it would be interesting to see Ranbir and Sunny collaborate as both the actors have a lot of respect for each other. Ranbir was also always all praise for Bobby all through the promotions of ‘Animal’.
‘Ramayana’ Part One is set to go on floors in March 2024 with Ranbir and Sai Pallavi. Reportedly, Lara Dutta has been confirmed to play Kaikeyi. Ranbir has reportedly quit smoking, alcohol and non vegetarian food in order to essay the role of Lord Ram.
