Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’ shelved over creative differences | – Times of India

Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya have collaborated for some of the biggest hits of their careers, from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘ (1989) to ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ (1994) and ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ (1999). The duo was all set to recreate their hitmaker magic at the box office, but their plans have hit a roadblock.
Last year, the filmmaker had confirmed that he is all set to helm ‘Prem Ki Shaadi‘ and Salman had also teased that ‘Prem’, his iconic character, will be back to charm fans.The movie was all set to go on floors this year but looks like Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya have called it quits. According to mid-day, the actor and director duo disagreed over several aspects of the movie and eventually decided to shelve the movie amicably. However, Sooraj Barjatya is keen to go ahead with the script and plans to rework it to suit a younger cast. The report stated that the filmmaker is planning to rope in younger stars, with Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh being considered for the project.
Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjayta’s last collaboration was 2015 release ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, which also starred Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar and Deepak Dobriyal.
While Sooraj scouts for a new cast, Salman Khan is currently busy with his next action entertainer ‘Tiger Vs Pathaan’, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
